In June of 2018 the National Park Service designated the Climax Canyon Nature Trail as a National Recreation Trail and part of the National Trails System.   This national designation is awarded to a select number of trails annually that meet the criteria as set forth by the National Park Service. We are very proud to have been one of 17 trails in 2018 to have received this national designation. Climax Canyon Park is also the site of the City of Bethlehem, a life size nativity scene sponsored by the Raton Lion's Club on display from Thanksgiving to New Year's.
