Arthur Scharf is a one-of-a-kind business man whose story is inspiring to say the least. Before becoming a leatherworker making bags, books, and everything in between, he has always been a writer. Arthur details that the highs and lows of life eventually influenced him to start writing after a hiatus in which he started researching how to make his own books.
Going through a few trials of his own, Arthur dove into making journals made of leather, which eventually became a business and a studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico called Innovative Journaling.
Not too long ago, Arthur moved his business to Raton. Innovative Journaling's "The Ink Bar" is a nook inside the shop where anyone interested can come inside and ink their thoughts, feelings, and heart on paper. Arthur welcomes anyone interested in watching him do leatherwork, and will gladly share his abilities with you.
