Climb Climax Canyon

Accessible easily from downtown Raton, this 3+ Mile Multi-Loop nature trail was recently named a national recreation trail.

Climax Canyon is named after an abandoned coal mine and located at the end of Apache Avenue just blocks from downtown Raton. Offers a 3+ mile multi-loop nature trail with breathtaking views of Raton and the surrounding landscape.  Wildlife viewing opportunities.

This trail is unique in that it provides access to nature just steps away from downtown Raton and runs along the KT Boundary.
