Run to Raton (R2R) is Northeastern New Mexico's favorite motorcycle rally and music event.
R2R is held on July 20-22, 2023, on downtown Raton’s historic First Street. Hundreds of bikes roar into Raton to experience our Wild West history and mountain culture.
Owner of Michael Patterson says that for this year’s event “we are trying to bring back everything from the previous years of R2R [and make this the biggest event ever.]”
“R2R has always been family friendly and will have a kid section. It is a safe event and not just a motorcycle rally and wild party.”
This free event features hours of live music, vendors, food, beer tents, tattoo artists on site, as well as our premiere pin-up contest, Miss Run to Raton. If you like bikes, music, food, craft beers and cocktails, and pin up culture, this event is one you’ll want to attend.
A bonus attraction is the bike raffle, where one lucky winner will go home with a 1948 Special Construction Shovel Head. One year’s winner turned around and gifted the bike to the first Vietnam vet who came up to claim it–you probably won’t see that happen anywhere else!
Enjoy cool mountain breezes, freshwater lakes, and celebrate the weekend in Historic Downtown Raton!
Expect car shows, tattoos, vendors, and the freedom to explore Raton and its surrounding communities via motorcycle.
“Instead of one place, we really encourage the riders to start in Raton and make their way to other special destinations like Cimarron, Sugarite Canyon, the Folsom Museum, Bishop’s Castle in Colorado, and more places” says Michael.
Plenty of ventures await visitors, including kayaking, fishing, and camping in Sugarite Canyon State Park and enjoying the views from atop Capulin Volcano or the Raton Sign on Goat Hill.
Along with the bikes, bands, and entertainment, there’s the freedom to explore Raton and its surrounding communities via motorcycle (or car, we won’t mind).
Enjoy cool mountain breezes and nearby lakes. Sugarite Canyon State Park offers hiking, camping, fishing and kayaking, or you can take in the views from the Raton sign on Goat Hill. Feel like going a little farther, and a hike up Capulin Volcano, which offers views into multiple states.
Turn up the music and make memories on the highest point of the historic Santa Fe Trail!
